For more than 55 years, the Palm Springs Opera Guild has been a cornerstone of the cultural life of the Coachella Valley. Founded in 1968 through the vision of community leaders and legendary soprano Lily Pons, our Guild has grown into one of the region’s premier arts organizations, dedicated to presenting, promoting, and preserving the art of opera while inspiring future generations of performers and audiences alike.
As President, I am honored to serve an organization whose mission extends far beyond the stage. Through educational outreach, exceptional live performances, and financial support for emerging artists, we strive to make opera accessible, engaging, and relevant to everyone in our community.
Our work is reflected in the programs that define our season. Opera in the Schools introduces more than 15,000 students each year to the excitement and artistry of opera. Our National Vocal Competition provides talented young singers with scholarships, performance opportunities, and an important step toward professional careers. Opera in the Park continues to bring thousands of residents and visitors together each spring to enjoy world-class performances in a welcoming outdoor setting, while our concerts, lectures, and special events create meaningful opportunities to experience opera throughout the year.
What makes the Palm Springs Opera Guild truly special is our community. Our members, donors, volunteers, patrons, artists, and partners share a belief that the arts enrich lives, strengthen communities, and create lasting connections. Their generosity and commitment have allowed the Guild to nurture rising stars—many of whom have gone on to distinguished international careers—while continuing to offer exceptional artistic experiences here in the Coachella Valley.
