Opera in the Schools is a two-week program that impacts more than 25,000 kids in grades K-12. Students participate in our 35 minute, interactive, light-hearted outreach assemblies each year. Students learn classical music terms, vocabulary, about the different languages that opera incorporates, and how opera impacts the world of music today!
New, this season, our professional troupe will perform a revised rendition of Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel.

Expanding Our Reach: We are in Two School Districts!
In 2019, Palm Springs Opera Guild made history by expanding our Opera in the Schools program to two school districts for the first time. In addition to serving Palm Springs Unified School District, we proudly extended our outreach to Desert Sands Unified School District, bringing the magic of opera to an additional 10,000 students.
Each year, we remain committed to growing our program and inspiring even more young minds through the power of music and storytelling. Our goal is simple: to make a lasting impact on the next generation through the beauty of opera.
